When Katrina Haynes discovers a large man lying wounded in the snow, she fears he is at death’s door. But as Kat tends to his injuries, she quickly realizes that they’re the least of her worries. With an irresistible Scottish brogue and a strange ability to harden his chiseled body like a statue, the stranger awakens a desire she is unable to resist—and a fascination about the intriguing world he exists in.
As a proud Gargoyle, Ahnvil must safeguard the Nightwalker to whom he’s sworn fealty. But as this bewitching woman nurses him back to health, arousing an almost uncontrollable hunger within him,
he is possessed with the fierce impulse to protect her as well. And he will have to shield her—for by coming to his rescue, Kat has placed herself in the middle of a supernatural war . . . and exposed herself to dark, powerful magic. As human and Gargoyle forge an unbreakable bond, Kat will discover that despite his intimidating strength and size, one thing Ahnvil does not possess is a heart of stone.
*****

Katrina Haynes is in for some excitement when she finds this giant hunk of a man wounded in the
snow.  Ahnvil is a Gargoyle who is fiercly loyal and true, not to mention oozing sexiness!  Katrina takes care of him, stitches up his wound, cooks to sate his ferocious appetite and ignites what seems to be an unquenchable desire in him.  When she innocently places a neckless he had in his pant pocket on, it seems to be enchanted and neither one of them can remove it.  Ahnvil has to bring her to Nightwalker central for help.  Kat finds out about a world she never knew existed and some things about herself she would never have thought possible.

I love how Frank writes.  I've read the first three of her Nightwalkers series and loved that she included Bella and Jacob in this book.  Now I need to go back and read the rest!  Kat and Ahnvil are wonderful characters, I could hear his Scottich brogue just oozing out of the pages.  I like that her female characters are not mealy weak damsels and the males are alphas to the max. It really was a fun enticing read, it makes you crave more.  Viva Jacquelyn Frank!
