Yes, for the most part. I am very anal like that. My sil's book club is reading Stephanie plum this month and while I'll never get through all 16 I've read 1 and 2 and will get through 3 before I read Sizzling Sixteen. I can't help it, it's how I roll. I just find it easier for me to know the characters, and the different plot turns the stories take. Though most authors are very thorough in filling in the back story in each book.

I am the EXACT same way. I'm very anal about reading books in a series in order. I just can't stand the thought of missing anything!
